Our vision is simple: No one in Stark or Wayne Counties should go hungry due to his or her ability to make or access meals.
Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties has played its part in beating hunger in the community since 1973, serving nearly 1,400 meals per day and more than 12 million total. Our holistic approach provides a safety check to help ease family concerns, social interaction at home or in our congregate dining program, free pet food that keeps companion pets in the home, delicious food that ensures proper nutrition, and peace of mind for our clients and their loved ones. All of these valued services come at a cost.
Essential funds are needed to continue to serve the growing number of at-risk clients in our neighborhoods, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Clients have said this about Meals on Wheels:
“Meals on Wheels is my security blanket!”
“They don’t just take care of me. They always remember to bring my dog, Logan, his meals, too!”
"Living alone is very lonely and difficult. Sometimes, Bobbi (volunteer) is the only person I talk to during the day. I don't have any appetite at all, I have to force myself to eat and just you people coming makes the difference between me living and not living."
For the people we serve every weekday, Meals on Wheels is more than just a hot meal. We provide a friendly face to seniors and people who are ill or disabled, who might otherwise be socially isolated and lonely. Our agency helps keep people living independently in their own homes and gives them peace of mind knowing that their loved one is being cared for.
If you are unable to give a monetary donation to our agency please help us by donating your time as a volunteer. There are many ways to volunteer at our agency but we are ALWAYS in need of volunteer drivers. Please contact our office at (330) 832-7220 for more information.
